Wind farms of FERA feature in the

“Tourist Guide of Italian Wind Farms” by Legambiente

MILAN, 20th September 2021 – There is a lot of Liguria in the “Tourist guide of Italian wind farms”, created by Legambiente with the patronage of ANEV (National Association of Wind Energy – www.anev.org) and a collaboration with FERA (Alternative Renewable Energy Factory) and other major Italian wind energy producers, presented on 20th September during an event in the garden of the Hotel Quirinale, in Rome.

In particular, of the eleven wind farms selected by Legambiente, such as examples in which the production of wind energy is integrated with the landscape and territory, with a view to general sustainability, six were designed and built by FERA. Of these, four operate in Liguria, in a mountainous area of Savona on the border of Piedmont, one in Tuscany and another in Abruzzo.

Legambiente’s guide, which is also linked to a website containing interactive maps (parchidelvento.it), aims to make people discover and share special places, less known and of great naturalistic interest, historical and cultural, which today also represents one of the most interesting laboratories for energy transition from the point of view of necessary good relations between wind power and the territory. The story of the wind farms together with that of the territories that host them, they demonstrate that the challenge of sustainability of renewable energy production can be faced with the consent of the communities and that it is possible to find innovative and fascinating forms of appreciation of local resources.

The pages of the Legambiente guide contain all the necessary information to get to these places and organize a weekend: from the characteristics of the facilities to the paths and trails that cross them, to advice on where to eat, sleep, more or lesser-known places to discover, including stories and anecdotes on the narration of the territories.

FERA wind farms included in the Legambiente Guide are: in Liguria: Cinque Stelle (Municipality of Stella – SV); La Rocca (Municipality of Pontinvrea – SV) Naso di Gatto (Municipality of Savona, Cairo Montenotte e Albisola); Valbormida (Cairo Montenotte – SV) – in Tuscany: Vento di Zeri (Comune di Zeri – MS); in Abruzzo: Tocco di Vento (Municipality of Tocco da Casauria – PE).

Cesare Fera, President of FERA SRL and founding partner of ANEV, commented: “We share with Legambiente (and for this reason we have enthusiastically joined the initiative) the idea behind the creation of a tourist guide of Italian wind farms: to allow everyone to go and see the modern machines that produce energy from the wind close up and to take advantage of them. To get to know some beautiful territories and away from the most popular tourist circuits. In Liguria one of the most beautiful treks in Europe can be found, “Alta Via dei Monti Liguri”, which I recommend everyone does at least once in their lifetime. Over 400 kilometers from Imperia to La Spezia, at an almost constant altitude, which in addition to the wonders of the natural landscape, allows one to see the evolution of wind technology, encountering along its path, wind generators from 800 Kw up to a very modern 4.2 MW. With regard to the trattorias indicated, I have frequented almost all of them, and I can guarantee you great satisfaction to the palate. ”  – “We believe it is very important to support initiatives such as the one that saw us collaborate with Legambiente at a time when wind power is always affirming itself as a necessary tool for the production of clean energy, also as a positive element in the debate on how to integrate them better into the landscape, especially in a country like Italy which is rich in cultural and environmental resources. For years, FERA has entered into a pact with territories that host our plants, through a partnership based on mutual respect and common objectives linked to sustainable development “.

With the company RICARICA, the FERA Group has for some years been present in the sustainable mobility sector by installing and managing charging devices for electric vehicles, scattered throughout various Italian regions, using energy from renewable sources. In Liguria, in the Vado Ligure area, it is developing a project that will bring the energy produced by a FERA wind farm directly to 350 kW ultra-fast charging stations: 100% green clean energy, zero km, everything in the name of sustainability.
