Quiliano - Vado Ligure
Rocche Bianche
In April 2020, the “Rocche Bianche” (White Rocks) wind farm came into operation. Located in an elevated position on the border between Vado Ligure and Quiliano, in the province of Savona, Liguria.
After an extensive and challenging authorization process, 4 Enercon E92 wind turbines, 78 m high and with a rotor diameter of 92 m, were finally able to transform wind energy into clean electricity supplying 24200 MWh / year, equal an annual consumption of 7,500 households.
This energy avoids the release into the atmosphere of 12900 tons of CO2, 28 tons of Methane and 64 tons of N2O, as well as 45 tons of other contaminants (PM10, NOx, SOx).
Transporting the components of a wind farm was exceptionally challenging, but in this case the innovative “blade lifter” system was chosen for the blades, a hydraulic lift that allows you to raise the blade, thus allowing you to transport on otherwise inaccessible roads.
